Tremors

The warning comes less than a year after an earthquake followed by tsunamidevastated the northeast coast of Japan
They say that in comparison with normal years, there have been five times more earthquakes in the Tokyo metropolitan area since the disaster of last year.
Tectonic crossroads
Japan is located in a tectonic crossroads dubbed the "Pacific Ring of Fire."
So the country is considered one of the most earthquake-prone in the world.

You know I keep seeing the 5.0 readings on USGS and other feeds...with any luck Japan won't sink or slip.
And they constructed nuclear plants! Where is commonsense when it comes to danger? I guess money prevails.
In a country subjected to tsumanis why coastal areas are inhabited?

Tokyo construction codes include strict earthquake resistance standards, so hopefully damage will be minimal. Tsunami damage is another story. There's not much you can do about that but hope for the best.
