By Ancillotti
Between Office 2003 and 2007, the system requirements almost doubled. According Dubec, Microsoft is aware that users do not want to do upgrades on their computers just to run a new version of Office. So basically, those who currently run the previous version of office suite from Microsoft, Office 2007, may use Office 2010 without problems.
To test performance, they did successfully in a laboratory containing a micro with the following configuration:
- Intel Pentium III 500 MHz
- 256 MB PC100 SDRAM
- Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3
The use of processing on the CPU and the GPU have not changed much, but the new version of Office will consume up to 1.5 GB more hard disk space. The suite will run on operating systems in modern business: Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 bit), Server 2008 and Server 2003, and of course the "deceased" Windows XP (32 bit). For the video, just a graphics processor with 64 MB of memory and supports DirectX 9.0c. However, if you use many graphics resources, especially PowerPoint, a video card will help in faster tasks.
